Foster a dog, save a life

"I don't foster because it's easy to let them go. It's not. I foster because I care enough to make the emotional sacrifice of letting them go."

Now more than ever the need for foster homes to save lives is great.  After Covid people are dumping their dogs in record numbers.  The Great Pyrenees is no exception.  In fact the surge in homesteading has left more livestock guardian breeds in shelters than ever before.  Many of these shelters in the south euthanize for space.  Often times we have to turn down dogs because we simply do not have the space.  We also feel a dog does better in a foster home learning how to live in a home and what is expected of it rather than sitting in a kennel.  Also, the foster family can often tell us a lot about the dog that we wouldn't typically get to know.

We provide everything you need to foster:  crate, approved vet care, food, preventatives. Even training classes if required.  We want to set our dogs up for success.

If you are looking for the companionship of a dog but not ready to fully commit, a foster may be great for both of you.

Our fosters always have first dibs on their foster dog.  We know they not only invest time but their hearts.  It is not foster failure, it is a success!
